Very nice work. I can't belive that you painted this from scratch. It looks so real, that I thought it was a photo.I'm to amazed to even give any crits. :worship:

I looked at your tutorial for this amazing piece of work on your website and it was very well done- reminds me of a tutorial that I made a ways back for a personal request. The only question I have is why you start with a small original canvas size. Whenever I work, I try to make it at least 2000px in one direction and work with really tiny brushes from there. Also, that way, I can get really good, detailed close up shots. Maybe I misread what you said, but it looked like your original was less than 1000px in both directions. Are there any benefits to working with a smaller canvas size, other than that it is easier on our poor computers?

I wouldn't recommend working at such a small scale in this day and age, but it was all my PC could handle when I did this picture. I used to work in pixel programs on the Amiga, zoom up real close and pixel all the detail in perfectly, so it was kind of natural to me to work small anyway.

I suppose the one benefit of working small is that it forces you to work very intricately and neatly so it's good practice. I try to work much larger these days though.

Btw. I just checked your artwork and I'm very impressed!

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I understand and appreciate your answer. I've found that even if I'm working on a giant canvas, I'll still be zoomed in at 200% and using 1-2px brushes.
I'm glad you liked my work :blush:
I look forward to seeing more of yours.

i looked through your tutorial;
this is amazing and i'm just left in awe

it must have taken forever though, noting that you did a lot of work using pixellation.
